Batch Infusion: EMERGE
Our newest batch of Amazonian Gold for Fall 2026 celebrates EMERGENCE.
Creation breaking through the surface, nourished by the expansiveness of your roots and the steady connection to your True Golden Nature. This past season, you've been in the depths... composting what no longer aligns, liberating from systems that no longer nourish or uplifting, taking accountability for unconscious actions and consequences, healing through courageous consistent action, rewiring your nervous system for sustained capacity, and learning how to stay here in your body (NO MATTER WHAT).
Now, Amazonian Gold carries you up toward the light. You can feel your roots. You can feel your growing core - that center column of strength - that will someday become a steady tree trunk. You can receive the warm morning light feeding your first leaves of creation. You can sense new buds of inspiration preparing to burst from your crown. You can feel the cool breeze dance across your body. You can recognize what a gift it is to BOTH have roots and compost in the underworld below the surface AND an expanding, every changing body above the surface. One does not exist without the other. We are both.
Cacao reminds us of this unified dual expression.
FAQs
Why is it spicy? How can I make it less spicy?
The spice in Amazonian Gold is intentional. The recipe contains ginger and a very small amount of wild Amazonian ají charapita (Grandmother of all ají)— a tiny, brilliantly aromatic chile that brings a surprising amount of heat.
On a physical level, there is something interesting happening in that heat. Capsaicin, one of the compounds responsible for the sensation of chile, interacts with receptors in the body involved in sensing heat and regulating vascular responses. Research is still evolving, but these pathways may support vasodilation and contribute to that familiar feeling of warmth and circulation that can spread through the body after eating chile. Blood. Movement. ALIVENESS.
And then there is the symbolic layer.
Energetically, we think of ají as fire. It moves. It wakes things up. It brings heat into places that feel still and helps carry the experience of cacao outward through the body. Where cacao can feel deep, grounding, expansive and inward, ají brings a tiny spark — brightness, movement and aliveness. In Amazonian Gold, it isn't there simply to make the cacao “hot.” It is part of the alchemy of the recipe.
There is also something beautifully ancient about this pairing.
At the oldest known ceremonial cacao site on Earth (Santa Ana–La Florida in southern Ecaudor), archaeologists found evidence of cacao use dating back approximately 5,300 years. Inside the central rock spiral temple, they found an ornately shaped ceramic vessel. Inside this vessel? DNA evidence of cacao, ají and maize.
Was cacao mixed with hot chili pepper even 5000 years ago? Though we can't know for sure, we can see that both plants have been a core part of ceremony for humans since the ancient Mayo-Chinchipe-Marañon culture, where cacao was first born.
Although Amazonian Gold is a modern recipe, but the relationship between cacao, spice and humans reaches extraordinarily far back.
If the spice feels like too much for you right now, play with ratios and recipes. Spice sensitivity varies enormously from person to person. Start with less Amazonian Gold and add more water and ghee. Or if you'd like to slowly introduce this cacao to your body, you can also play with other creative drink recipes. Functional mushroom superfood lattes. Cold blended smoothies and elixirs. Or even just adding a bit of fresh nut milk or coconut milk with a tablespoon on honey will dramatically lighten the experience of Amazonian Gold.
This cacao is DEEP, POTENT, POWERFUL. It is totally okay to adapt this base potency and intensity to meet you where you are each day. The magic is always there. You get to turn the dials up and down to connect with your unique body and heart.
Why do you suggest adding honey and salt on top of Amazonian Gold?
Honey and salt are not just flavors — they are keys.
A pinch of mineral salt on top helps “unlock” the cacao by opening the channels of the body. Salt acts like an ancient conductor: it grounds, purifies, and prepares your system to receive the deeper frequency of the cacao.
A drizzle of honey invites sweetness, softness, and coherence. In Amazonian tradition, honey carries the intelligence of thousands of flowers — it brings a higher harmonic that gently lifts the cacao’s energy and weaves it through the heart.
By placing them on top, not just mixed in, the first thing that touches your tongue is this trinity of earth (salt), flower (honey), and seed (cacao).
This sequence creates a moment of activation — a subtle initiation — allowing the cacao to open you more fully, both physically and energetically.
